For 2x3m print, use actual size or high resolution?

Full question
Hi, I hope I'm in the right place to ask and I know this will probably sound dumb, but here's my question: if you have to make a (raster, not vectorial) picture for large scale printing (2x3m), would you work on a real size canvas, or work on a more normal sized canvas with a very high resolution? Thanks in advance for any answer!
Answer
I find it more convenient to work at 10% of the final print size. For example, in your case, my canvas would be 20x30 centimeters. This approach is more manageable because I generate many variations and ideas during the process, and working at the original size would make the canvas in software like Adobe Illustrator fill up very quickly. Of course, when preparing the raster image, I ensure that the DPI is high to maintain print quality.
